Sister M. Ruth Faisca, 82, of Fremont, Calif., formerly of Kohala, died Sept. 17 in Fremont. Born in Kohala, she was a member of the Sisters of the Holy Family and served in catechetical, child care and parish ministry in several California and Nevada locations, as well as Honokaa, Honolulu and Kailua, Oahu. She also served as a novice director, vocations director and congregational councilor, and was appointed director of life development and motherhouse director in 2008. Dedication Mass for the intentions of the late Sister Ruth is at 9:30 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 11) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi. Funeral service held in Fremont.
