Police are investigating a possible drowning Sunday at Anaehoomalu Bay in Waikoloa.

Officers responding to a 12:59 p.m. report learned a bystander pulled the unknown man to shore and attempted CPR with another bystander.

Fire personnel arrived but were unable to revive the man, whom police are attempting to identify.

The case has been classified as a coroner’s inquest and an autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death.
