Pedro Peter Louis Alves, 99, of Kailua-Kona died Sept. 21 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he was a carpenter, maintenance man and landscaper at the former Hotel King Kamehameha and Kona Tiki hotels, a rock builder and U.S. Army veteran. Visitation noon-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona on Alii Drive. Mass at 1 p.m. Casual attire; flowers welcome.
