Reports of a plane going down near Pohakuloa Training Area are incorrect, according to the Army.

Police were responding this morning to a report of a downed plane near the 39 mile marker on Saddle Road, Hawaii News Now reported.

While police were responding to the report, a spokeswoman for the training area told the Tribune-Herald that there was no emergency and that no planes went down near the facility.

“Apparently somebody saw artillery training going off and thought it was a downed aircraft,” said Stefanie Gutierrez, PTA public affairs officer.
