Kahoolulu “Lulu” Neki Leialoha, 89, of Hilo died Oct. 14 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker and member of Haili Church, Ka‘ahumanu Society and Keaukaha Community Association. Visitation 3-4 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 21) at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo. Memorial service at 4 p.m. Aloha attire. Survived by daughters, Evalou (Stan) Yamabe, Janice (Anthony) Maldonado, Lorene (James) Hough, Evonne Kehau (Lawrence) Kaloi, Helen Henderson, all of Hilo, Harriet Ku’ulei (Mike) Wilton of Utah and Miriam Maile (Ken) St Louis of Washington; sons, James Kimo (Lynn) Leialoha and Neki (Davelyn) Kauhi Jr., both of Hilo; daughter-in-law, Bernadette Leialoha of Pahoa; 31 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Jean Aiko Nakamoto, 81, of Honolulu, formerly of Captain Cook, died Sept. 19 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Puna, she was the cafeteria manager at Holualoa Elementary School before retiring from the state Department of Education. Visitation at 5 p.m. Friday (Oct. 23) at Hosoi Garden Mortuary in Honolulu. Memorial service at 6 p.m. Funeral service at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, at the Kona Hongwanji. Casual attire. Survived by sons, Dr. Stuart T. Sumiko Okamoto, 90, of Hilo died Sept. 29 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Hilo, she was a housewife, an avid stamp collector and member of Hilo Higashi Hongwanji Mission.
