Reynold “Rey” Ako, 87, of Kailua-Kona died Oct. 15 at home. Born in Holualoa, he was a retired heavy equipment operator, member of Hawaii Operating Engineers Union Local No. 3 and U.S. Army veteran. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 24) at Queen Liliuokalani Recreation Center. Celebration of life service at 10 a.m. Luncheon to follow. For info, call 990-3181. Lillian Perreira Schattauer, 95, of Hilo died Oct. 8 at Hale Pu‘uhonua Care Home in Keaau. Born in Hilo, she was a retired chief operator for the former Hawaiian Telephone Co. and member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church and Saint Joseph Aloha Choir.
