Fresh from ‘SNL’ return, Tracy Morgan plans stand-up tour
NEW YORK (AP) — After renewing his comedy career with appearances on “Saturday Night Live” and at the Emmy Awards, Tracy Morgan will embark on a nationwide stand-up tour this winter.
The “Tracy Morgan: Picking up the Pieces” tour is set to begin Feb. 5 at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana, it was announced Tuesday. His bookings, from February until the end of May, include some cold-weather gigs: Vermont and Ontario in February. But he does have two dates in Hawaii in early April.
Morgan was in a coma for two weeks following a June 2014 accident, when a truck on the New Jersey Turnpike crashed into the back of a van he was riding in. Comedian James “Jimmy Mack” McNair was killed in the crash.
Hawaiian Airlines to add lie-flat seats in premium cabins
HONOLULU (AP) — Hawaiian Airlines announced plans to introduce design improvements and enhanced service options for its A330 aircraft premium cabins.
The newly outfitted aircraft will feature 180-degree lie-flat seats that fold into beds as well as tablets for in-flight entertainment. The new seats were developed in partnership with Italian manufacturer Optimares.
As part of the cabin redesign, Hawaiian Airlines also will add “extra comfort” seats on each A330 aircraft. The seat option will include priority boarding at the gate, complimentary on-demand entertainment and a personal power outlet.
The designs are expected to be implemented in Hawaiian’s long-haul network in the second quarter of 2016. Lie-flat seats will be installed in the remaining 22 A330 aircraft in September 2016 through 2017.
New dog barking ordinance could be introduced after repeal
LIHUE, Kauai (AP) — Another ordinance meant to keep dog owners responsible for their pet’s excessive barking could go before Kauai County officials nearly two months after a previous dog barking ordinance was repealed.
Councilman KipuKai Kualii is drafting an ordinance that calls for at least two people from different households to complain about a noisy dog before the dog owner is cited. The old ordinance, repealed in August, only required one complaint.
The language of the previous ordinance says a dog owner could face fines ranging from $50 for a first offense to $200 to $500 for a third offense. The penalties could remain the same under Kualii’s proposal.
Kualii’s proposal could be introduced to the council Nov. 4.
