The Center for Global Education and Exchange at the University of Hawaii at Hilo will host a public talk and book-signing event with UH-Hilo alumna Danielle Takeshita for her debut novelette, “5 Senses,” at 3 p.m. today (Oct. 22) in the UH-Hilo Student Services Building Room W-201.
“5 Senses” is a story about the friendship between Jamie and Iris and their journey to find answers about Iris’ past. Takeshita said she wrote the book because it was “something she would have loved to read as a teen.”
Takeshita graduated in 2012 with a bachelor of arts degree in Japanese studies and a minor in agriculture. Her undergraduate education included participating in a study abroad program at Daito Bunka University in Japan.
