Frances Laninbit, 66, of Waimea and Majuro, Marshall Islands, died Oct. 19 at her Hawaii home. Born in Majuro, she was an elementary school and Head Start program principal in the Marshall Islands. All-night vigil at 2 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 29) at Christ Church Episcopal, 81-1004 Konawaena School Road, Kealakekua. Funeral service at 8 a.m. Friday (Oct. 30). Casual attire. Survived by sons, Atlas (Nelia) Lodge of Ocean View and Kesler (Shina) Lodge of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Barbara (Jackson) Lobju of Waimea, Yolanda (Souvenir) Ned Lodge, Yoma (Paul Myazoe) Lodge and Bina (Mahlon Toren) Lodge of Marshall Islands, Alodia (Kyle Matthew) Lodge of Waikoloa; half-sister, Liene (Enoch) Rantak of Marshall Islands; numerous grandchildren and one great-grandchild; nieces, nephews and cousins. Albert “Tinkiri” Mitsuo Oshiro, 80, of Pahoa died Sept. 11 in Hilo. Born on Kauai, he was a retired foreman for Jade Painting. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Sunday (Nov. 1) at Nuuanu Memorial Park &Mortuary. Service at 10 a.m. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by children, Michelle (Ricky) Chang and Myles Oshiro of Honolulu, Robin (Takehiko) Kotani of Pearl City, Oahu; adopted sons, Shaston Oshiro of Kauai and Shaidon Oshiro of Pahoa, stepson, Keola Gorospe of Pahoa; stepdaughter, Desiree Arhelger of Pahoa; sisters, Ayako Hunt of Mililani, Oahu, and Gladys Akasaki of Virginia; 10 grandchildren.
