The U.S. Coast Guard said it found an adrift kayak Tuesday but no sign of a missing free diver.

The U.S. Coast Guard said it found an adrift kayak Tuesday but no sign of a missing free diver.

A spokeswoman said the kayak was not associated with Amber Savant, who hasn’t been seen since Sunday.

The 33-year-old Kona woman was free diving near Kapoho Bay when a rip current pulled her out to sea.

The Coast Guard was continuing its search for Savant with a helicopter and patrol vessel. The U.S. Navy and Hawaii Fire Department also were assisting in the search.

No sign of the missing woman had been found as of press time Tuesday.

The Coast Guard said the kayak was spotted 19 miles southwest of Kapoho. Anyone who can help identify the owner is asked to call Coast Guard Sector Honolulu at 842-2600.
