Guy Yokoe

Guy Yokoe

Sport: Air riflery

The performance: By now, Yokoe, a Waiakea senior, already is looking ahead to the baseball season and helping the Warriors get back the BIIF title as well as the HHSAA crown they won in in 2012 (his favorite athlete had something to do with that).

But Yokoe already has helped Waiakea recapture state glory in another sport. On Oct. 27, he won the individual crown at the HHSAA air riflery championships on Maui as the Warriors brought home gold from states for the fifth time in six years.

Yokoe’s aim was true in the final position, kneeling, as he held off Mid-Pacific’s Colin Chun 537-535.
