The Hawaii Supreme Court on Oct. 29 issued an order allowing Kona attorney Diana R. Danmeyer to resign from the practice of law in lieu of discipline, effective Nov 29. She is required to surrender her license to the Supreme Court.
Danmeyer admitted she renegotiated two contingency fee agreements without complying with Hawaii Rules of Professional Conduct 1.8(a), committed numerous trust account violations, formed a partnership with a California attorney in violation of HRPC 5.4(b), and shared legal fees with a California attorney in violation of HRPC 5.4(a).
The public is cautioned and advised Danmeyer will not be eligible to practice law until reinstated by order of the Supreme Court.
Danmeyer is not allowed to accept any new retainers, clients or legal matters, and also must return to any existing clients their papers, property and unearned advance fee payments.
The 59-year-old Danmeyer was admitted to the state bar June 29, 1998.
