An early morning sex assault was reported Thursday in Hilo, according to a police log.
According to the log, the incident was reported at 5:01 a.m. and took place at 850 Waianuenue Ave., which, according to county tax records, is Carvalho Park, a county park with a softball field and gymnasium.
A police spokeswoman said an adult female reported being assaulted multiple times by a new acquaintance. She declined to confirm the location of the alleged assault.
No one has been arrested in connection with the alleged incident.
The spokeswoman said the incident is being actively investigated.
