No repellent?
We are advised to use mosquito repellent to lessen the chances of spreading dengue fever, but all the stores seem to be sold out of these products and haven’t replaced them.
Can the agencies in charge of disease control not do something to remedy this situation ?

Homegrown terrorism
In response to the uproar about Gov. David Ige’s thought of bringing Syrian refugees to Hawaii, and U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard’s opposition, I would like to point out, if I may, the hypocrisy behind those who oppose giving refuge to these people escaping the atrocities of yet another U.S.-influenced civil war.
Question: What does Tulsi think of our own homegrown terrorism, and what is she prepared to do to prevent the influx of the violent dysfunctional who seem to make their homes on the mainland? Are we going to background check everyone who lands in Hawaii, as well?
We should!
Between 2000 and 2014, there were 133 mass shootings in the United States, and in 2015 that number climbed to 294 mass shootings, with more than 389 dead and 1,000 injured. Wow!
We need not jihadists to help us out, do we?
If I was a Syrian refugee, I would be scared to be offered refuge in the good old USA!
The more I hear from our rather vociferous Tea Party imports who never tire of feeding fear to the ignorant, the more I sympathize with the kanaka maoli pleas to make Hawaii whole again!
Please spare us from this pervasive hatred, and let aloha be supreme in our islands.

Good call, Gabbard
U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard has taken a principled, if unpopular, stand in support of additional screening of Syrian refugees seeking entry into the U.S. She deserves our praise.
The Obama administration demonstrated it lacks utterly the will and competence to protect our borders. The legislation supported by Rep. Gabbard provides some much-needed adult supervision.
