The woman killed Thanksgiving night in a single-car crash in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park has been identified as 23-year-old Destanie Renon of Waikoloa.

The woman killed Thanksgiving night in a single-car crash in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park has been identified as 23-year-old Destanie Renon of Waikoloa.

Renon was southbound on Highway 11 in a 1992 Honda sedan, and was ejected from the car after crashing into a cluster of large ohia trees between the 30-mile marker and Pi‘i Mauna Drive at about 9:38 p.m. Thursday.

She died at the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation and witnesses are being sought. Anyone with information is asked to call HVNP dispatch at 985-6170.
