Jason Walter, who was born in Honolulu and raised in Hilo, announces the publication of his newest book, “The Empty Flask.”
This is the St. Joseph High School and University of Hawaii alumnus’ eighth work published since the release of his first book, “Adventures in Urban Mysticism (AUM) Vol. 1: Rebirth,” by Balboa Press, in 2012.
“I had a such a roller coaster of an experience with the publication of ‘AUM Vol. 1,’ that I sought out other ways to further my development as a writer.” Walter shares. “I haven’t stopped since.”
“The Empty Flask” is the second “Mix-Tape” in Walter’s #DropTheMic series of social commentary told in the form of essays and poetry. “The Empty Flask” was influenced by gun violence in the continental U.S., homelessness in Hawaii and racism, along with basic awe experienced in everyday life.
Walter is working in his third season with Hawaii Opera Theatre after being appointed its first marketing director in 2013.
“The Empty Flask” is available on iBooks.
