The Hawaii Island Retired Teachers Association once again asks the Big Island community to help future teachers at the University of Hawaii at Hilo’s School of Education by gracing homes, offices, churches and other venues with the flowers of this special season.

The Hawaii Island Retired Teachers Association once again asks the Big Island community to help future teachers at the University of Hawaii at Hilo’s School of Education by gracing homes, offices, churches and other venues with the flowers of this special season.

The association’s Poinsettias for Education fundraiser provides a little something special for each graduating student. Beginning today, red, yellow, pink, jingle bell and other varieties of poinsettias can be purchased and picked up from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. daily at 264 Nohea St. in Hilo until supplies run out.

Beautiful, high-quality and Big Island-grown pots can be purchased as follows:

• 4-inch pots, $5

• 6-inch pots, $7

• 8-inch pots, $12

• 2-gallon pots, $22
