Pono Yanagi captured the boys 13-14 age division at the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association’s Tournament of Champions on Sunday at Maui’s Wailea Golf Club.

The Kamehameha freshman tied AJ Teraoka with a 4-over-par 148 two-round total and beat the Moanalua sophomore in a one-hole playoff.

Yanagi shot 72-76 while Teraoka carded 74-74 at the two-day tournament, sponsored by Michelle Wie.

Hilo’s Isaiah Kanno, an eighth grader, won the boys 11-12 division with a 4-under 71-69—140 total, five shots ahead of Honolulu’s Kelly Chinn (73-72—145).

In the boys 7-10 division, Hilo’s Dysen Park was third with a 13-over 80-77—157 total.

Yanagi, Kanno and Park were the only Big Island golfers who participated.

The Tournament of Champions brings together all the winners and team members of the HSJGA season to compete for the title of age division champion.

The age division winners were:

Girls 7-10: Honolulu’s Rachael Wang, 4-over 75-73—148

Girls 11-12: Honolulu’s Kyung Eun Lee, 8-over 75-77—152

Girls 13-14: Mililani’s Allysha Mae Mateo, 1-over 72-73—145

Girls 15-18: Honolulu’s Allisen Corpuz, 5-under 72-67—139

Boys 7-10: Honolulu’s Joshua Chung, 5-over 74-75—149

Boys 11-12: Hilo’s Isiah Kanno, 4-under 71-69—140

Boys 13-14: Hilo’s Pono Yanagi, 4-over 72-76—148

Boys 15-18: Honolulu’s Kyle Suppa, 7-under 68-69—137
