Roger James Balanon, 64, of Aiea, Oahu, died Nov. 24 at home. He was born in Hilo. Visitation 5-6 p.m. Friday (Dec. 11) at Ballard Family Moanalua Mortuary in Honolulu. Gary Kazuyoshi Ichishita, 88, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 23 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Keopu, he was co-owner of Kona Laundry and Dry Cleaners and member of Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, Keopu Citizens Club, Kumamoto Kenjin Kai, Nikkei Kyokai and Shinwaka Club. John Arthur Jukes, 84, of Kailua-Kona died Dec. 1 at home. Born in Nottingham, England, he was a mechanical engineer and founder of Time-Sert, owner of Time Fastener Company and U.S. Navy veteran. Yoko Kawata, 77, of Houston, formerly of Hilo, died Nov. 24 at her personal care home. Born in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, she was a Japanese language instructor at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, Hawaii Community College and Kaumana Drive Baptist Church’s after-school program. Robert Joseph “Bobby” Teixeira, 83, of Hilo died Nov. 25 at home. The late Allen Clesson Wilcox was survived by, among others, sister-in-law Mavourneen Wilcox. Her name was misspelled in an obituary published Tuesday.
