The Vulcans (0-6, 0-2 Pacific West Conference) fell into a 22-9 hole to start the game, fought to cut their deficit to one, but never got back into it after the hot-shooting Silverswords used a 12-0 run and lead by 16 at the halftime.
UH-Hilo continues to miss 6-foot-6 junior Darius Johnson-Wilson and his inside post presence.
Sam Daly, a 6-4 guard, led Chaminade with 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting, 10 rebounds and five assists, 6-5 Rohndell Goodwin posted 20 points and seven rebounds and 6-7 Kuany Kuany collected 15 points and nine rebounds.
The Silverswords shot better than 54 percent.
Farris caught fire in the second half and made six 3-pointers, finishing with 23 points. Nate Walker helped inside with a double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds) and guards Patrick Ball and Van Lockett each had 10.

Sabrina Angle negated the Lady Vulcans’ quick start with 3-point accuracy, and UH-Hilo was badly outrebounded and shot poorly from the field in a 53-44 loss to Chaminade in Honolulu.
The Vulcans (0-6, 0-1 PacWest) got off to their best start of the season when Kim Schmelz and Vanessa Mancera knocked down 3-pointers to give UH-Hilo a 10-2 lead.
Angle responded with three 3s in the second quarter as the Silverswords (3-3, 3-0) took the lead for good and went on a 12-0 run before halftime.
Junior guard Lauren Hong scored 13 points for UH-Hilo, which shot only 25.9 percent.
Lilia Maio powered Chaminade’s inside dominance with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
The Silverswords grabbed 48 boards, while UH-Hilo finished with only 27.
