One man was arrested and a local bail bondsman is being sought for questioning in what police say is an ongoing investigation of an alleged repeated campaign of harassment in a Waikoloa village neighborhood.
Joshua Honcoop of Waikoloa was arrested Thursday and charged with harassment, harassment by stalking and disorderly conduct.
He was released after posting $1,250 bail.
Police are asking for the public’s assistance in finding 37-year-old Matthew P. McGill, who is described as 6 feet, 8 inches tall, 285 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. His last known address was in Waikoloa.
McGill owns Hawaii Surety Agency LLC, which does business as Aloha Bail Bonds LLC.
In an apparently unrelated case, he was arrested in January 2014 by Honolulu police for threatening two men, ages 27 and 24, at the Embassy Suites Waikiki Beach Walk hotel.
In that case, he was charged with terroristic threatening and impersonating a police officer.
McGill was sentenced to a brief period of probation, according to court records. He was allowed a deferred acceptance of his no contest plea by Honolulu Circuit Judge Christine Kuriyama, and his conviction was erased after he completed his probation without getting into any further trouble with the law.
Anyone with information about McGill’s whereabouts is asked to call the police nonemergency line at 935-3311. Those who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
