Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects wanted in a theft investigation.

A 21-year-old man told police that at about 4:40 a.m. Wednesday, a 21-year-old man was working at his computer on the University of Hawaii at Hilo campus when two suspects stole his computer and backpack.

The property was recovered before the suspects fled on foot.

The first suspect was wearing a blue tank top, black shorts, light shoes and a dark baseball cap. The second suspect had a dark bandana covering his nose and mouth. He also was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, cargo shorts and dark footwear. Both suspects appear to be in their late teens or early twenties.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police nonemergency line at 935-3311. Those who prefer anonymity can call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
