According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the temblor occurred at a depth of 4.5 miles at 12:23 p.m. It was located 4.6 miles south/southwest of the Pu‘u ‘O‘o vent.

The quake was felt as far away as Hilo and Kona, according to the USGS.

A 3.1-magnitude earthquake was recorded Sunday on Kilauea.
