The county Department of Public Works said Wednesday the Cemetery Road Restoration project is completed and the functionality of the original one-lane road in Pahoa is restored.
The reconstruction work was to remove lava associated with the June 27 lava flow from Pu‘u ‘O‘o vent that crossed the road Oct. 25, 2014.
The project also was completed within the budget of $150,000, and 75 percent of the construction cost was funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
