HONOLULU (AP) — Eleven-week-old Honolulu quintuplets are home in time for Christmas.
The four boys and one girl were born premature on Oct. 10. Doctors expected the babies would need to remain in the hospital for up to three months.
Two of the babies went home on Dec. 13. Another went home on Monday. The final two were released from the hospital on Thursday.
They are Hawaii’s first surviving set of quintuplets.
Marcie Dela Cruz says having all her babies home is the best Christmas gift.
She and her husband Ray have a 2-year-old son. He was conceived through in vitro fertilization and the couple set aside several frozen embryos. In April, they had two of the embryos transferred, hoping to give their son a sibling.
