Donald “Buddy” Howard Brandt, 88, of Hilo died Dec. 18 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired finance comptroller for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co., had worked for HELCO and the former Wailuku, Olokele and Hilo sugar companies, was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Young Men’s Institute Francis Council No. 573, and Hawaii Army National Guard veteran. Visitation 8:30-10 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 6, 2016). Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at Homelani Memorial Park Mausoleum. Casual attire. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts).
