Verizon is conducting complimentary wireless workshops in Hilo and Kailua-Kona this month. You can gain smartphone or mobile device skills such as how to download language or cooking apps, or how to use the health and exercise trackers that might already come with your devices.
The Android: Getting Started workshop teaches the basics of your new Android device. Instructors will review hardware functions, show how to set up email, add social network accounts, master device features, how to customize your device and much more.
Apple iPhone: Getting Started introduces the features of your iPhone. During this workshop, Verizon experts will show how to use Maps, Siri (not available on all models), FaceTime and more.
Those who want to take advantage of these workshops must register at vzwworkshops.verizonwireless.com/vzwworkshops/.
The Kona workshops will be at the Lanihau Shopping Center, 75-5595 Palani Road. Call 326-7260.
The Hilo workshops are at the Verizon store at Waiakea Center, 315 Makaala St. No. 11. Call 935-6931.
