Police are charging a 31-year-old Puna woman for a burglary that occurred the day after Christmas in Hilo.
Helena Maelynne Pang of Pahoa was charged Sunday with burglary and second-degree theft for the Dec. 26 burglary of an Ululani Street home. The resident, a 76-year-old woman, told police several items of jewelry were taken.
Police arrested Pang on Saturday on unrelated contempt of court warrants and found items that were taken during the burglary in her possession, police said.
Pang’s bail was set at $35,000. Her initial court appearance was Monday.
