Shannon Camero batted 3 for 3 with two RBIs, and the Keaukaha Warriors defeated the B.I.B.-Hawaiians 10-3 in an AJA Memorial Baseball game on Sunday at Wong Stadium.
Camero blasted a two-run homer for the Warriors, who finished with 12 hits. Justin Kekaualua, Cortney Arruda and Tyler Aburamen also had two hits each.
Arruda went the distance for the win. In seven innings, he allowed seven hits but whiffed 11 and walked none.
Keian Kanetani went three innings and took the loss.
Kanetani had two hits and two RBIs while Logan Respicio and Anthony Benevides also had two hits each.
In the other game, the Waiakea Pirates beat B.I.B.-Hawaiians 6-3 behind Casey Yamauchi’s big day at the plate: 3 for 4, run scored and RBI.
Mike Sayaboc added two hits and two RBIs and Cody Urasaki had two hits for the Pirates.
Onan Masoka pitched four scoreless innings with eight strikeouts and one walk for the win.
Kanetani had two hits for B.I.B.-Hawaiians and Justyce Ishii took the loss in two innings.
In a third game, B.I.B.-Mana topped the Corsairs 9-4 behind Kobie Kinzie’s hot bat: 3 for 4, two runs, two RBIs.
Brent Komatsu, Tyler Kitaoka and Kagen Tolentino, who also had two RBIs, each added two hits.
Noah Higa-Gonsalves went five innings for the win.
Kegan Miura, Garrick Yokoe and Shaun Kurosawa each had two hits for the Corsairs.
Trey Yoshiyama pitched three innings in the loss.
Games continue on Sunday at Wong with Corsairs vs. Pirates at 10 a.m., followed by B.I.B.-Mana vs. Warriors at 12:30 p.m.
The AJA state tournament will be held April 9-10 at Wong Stadium.
