Two minor earthquakes under Mauna Loa shook parts of the Big Island early Monday morning.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck at 1:52 a.m. followed by a 3.0-magnitude temblor at 4:01 a.m.
Both occurred within about 4 miles of Mauna Loa’s summit.
The earthquakes were reportedly felt in West Hawaii.
