A Holualoa man was arrested after allegedly becoming drunk and belligerent earlier this week on a Kona-bound flight, according to law enforcement.
Dannford Vorus Davis, 43, was aboard Alaska Airlines Flight 845 arriving Monday from Oakland, Calif., said FBI special agent Tom Simon. Davis was disruptive, he said, and an off-duty law enforcement officer restrained the suspect until the plane landed at Kona International Airport.
When the plane landed, Davis was taken into temporary custody by the FBI and Hawaii Police Department officers. He was arrested by county police on a charge of disorderly conduct at 3:30 p.m. Monday, according to the police arrest log.
Davis posted a $250 bond at 4:45 p.m. and was released. His initial court appearance is set for Feb. 18 in Kona District Court.
Federal prosecutors consulted with the FBI and opted not to charge Davis, said assistant U.S. attorney Elliot Enoki.
