Born in Honolulu, she was an employee of the former Kona Laundry and Dry Cleaning and Island Sea Shells, Alfred Shaheen and The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, and member of Kumamoto Kenjin Kai and Fukuoka Kenjin Kai.
