A South Korean man has been charged with three offenses in connection with a domestic dispute and a stabbing Wednesday at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel.

At 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Kona police detectives charged 59-year-old Kyoung Sun Yoo of Yuseong Gu, South Korea, with first-degree assault, first-degree terroristic threatening and domestic abuse. His bail was set at $8,000.

The incident was investigated as an attempted murder but that charge wasn’t filed.

Yoo is being held at the Kona police cellblock. Unless he posts bail, he will make his initial court appearance today.

The stabbing victim, a 52-year-old South Korean man, remains at North Hawaii Community Hospital in stable condition after being treated for puncture wounds to his chest and thigh.

The abuse victim, a 52-year-old South Korean woman, was treated for a head injury at the hospital Wednesday and then released.
