Police have identified a pedestrian killed when who was killed when struck by a pickup truck Sunday on Kawaihae Road inn Waimea as 38-year-old Jacob Freebairn of Waimea.
An autopsy conducted Wednesday concluded Freebairn died from injuries sustained in the accident.
The driver of the truck, 27-year-old BertJim Badua of Kapaau was arrested on suspicion of first-degree negligent homicide and DUI and released pending further investigation.
Police have said they think alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
