Police say an army bomb squad blew up a suspicious device found Wednesday in the backpack of a 9-year-old boy at Ka‘u Learning Academy in Discovery Harbour.

Preliminary tests were inconclusive as to the contents of the device, police said.
The investigation is continuing.
