Jacob Kawaa Freebairn, 38, of Hawaii Island died Feb. 7 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kailua, Oahu, he was a landscaper, sous chef and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Mitsue Kitasato, 84, of Pahala died Feb. 18 at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Honalo, Kona, she was a retired custodian for Bank of Hawaii in Pahala and Ka‘u Mac Nut, a produce vendor and member of the Pahala Hongwanji Mission Fujinkai. Funeral services 11 a.m. Monday (Feb. 22) at the Pahala Hongwanji Mission. Aloha attire.
