Regarding “County pCard response unclear” (Tribune-Herald, Feb. 23): Actually, the article in the Tribune-Herald on Tuesday about the county’s pCard response was very clear.

Legislative Auditor Bonnie Nims issued the report last July and admitted she has not followed up on it.

Managing Director Randy Kurohara couldn’t be reached after multiple attempts.

Finance Director Deanna Sako did not return emails.

What could be more clear than this? No one wants to do the job they are supposed to do because the pCard issue is a hot potato and concerns the mayor.

Shame! The lack of response and/or action by our county officials regarding the pCard abuse is a big, smoldering pile of … shame.

Nobody talking, nobody doing nothing, nobody leading. Where is your sense of honor, dignity and duty?

Makes no sense

Try to figure this out. The governor wants to increase taxes on gas and vehicle registration. Some legislators want to increase the general excise tax for various reasons. On the other hand, they are considering an earned income rebate of taxes. Does any of this make sense?

Make it fair

Why tax the drivers who drive only a few miles per year by raising the already too-high-priced registration fees and weight taxes?

If any tax rate increase is needed, add taxes to the per-gallon gas tax rate. This would be much more fair to the drivers who use the roads less.

P.S. How many more $4 million-plus roundabouts do we need?
