Kikue Hatayama, 87, of Hilo, died Feb. 18 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a former teacher at IVY Daycare and retired manager of Kandi’s Drive Inn. Clifford Yin Jong Kong, 90, of Hilo, formerly of Kailua, Oahu, died Feb. 26 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired Hawaii National Bank vice president, U.S. Air Force World War II veteran, Northwestern University graduate and member of Masonic Fraternity of the Evans Lodge No. 524 in Evanston, Ill., and Mid-Pacific Country Club in Honolulu and helped design Hawaii Kai Golf Course.
