Kikue Hatayama, 87, of Hilo, died Feb. 18 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a former teacher at IVY Daycare and retired manager of Kandi’s Drive Inn. Visitation 4-5 p.m. Tuesday (March 8) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 5 p.m. Survived by husband, Kenichi Hatayama of Hilo; sons, Carl (Tina) Hatayama of Oahu, Brian Hatayama of Hilo, Kent Hatayama of California and Mark (Scarlett) Hatayama of Keaau; daughter, Gayla (John) Kurokawa of Hilo; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Clifford Yin Jong Kong, 90, of Hilo, formerly of Kailua, Oahu, died Feb. 26 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired Hawaii National Bank vice president, U.S. Air Force World War II veteran, Northwestern University graduate and member of Masonic Fraternity of the Evans Lodge No. 524 in Evanston, Ill., and Mid-Pacific Country Club in Honolulu and helped design Hawaii Kai Golf Course. Graveside service and burial 9 a.m. Friday (March 4) at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.
