Inspired by the Good Night, Sleep Tight organization, Keaau Middle School AVID students delivered a positive message by creating keepsake pillowcases full of personal items and goodies that were distributed to foster children in the community.

Inspired by the Good Night, Sleep Tight organization, Keaau Middle School AVID students delivered a positive message by creating keepsake pillowcases full of personal items and goodies that were distributed to foster children in the community.

Good Night, Sleep Tight was founded by Kassandra Gonsalves of Fairhaven, Mass., when she was 10 years old. After reading about how foster children often lose their belongings when transitioning from home to home, Kassandra wanted to do something that would give these kids a sense of comfort and security.

She motivated friends, family members and classmates to help her decorate pillowcases and fill them with goodies.

Since 2010, Good Night, Sleep Tight has inspired hundreds of students across the country to create keepsake pillow packs for foster children.

Thanks to generous donations and support, Keaau Middle School Advancement Via Individual Determination students were able to create more than 50 pillow packs.
