The Panaewa Hawaiian Home Lands Community Association is hosting a day of fun and celebration from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. March 26 at Panaewa Park in honor of the founder of Hawaiian Home Lands in the state, Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole.

“Our community would not have had the opportunity of a place to reside if it wasn’t for Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole, so we celebrate our heritage and cultural activities with other associations, organizations and agencies throughout the islands on this day because of Kuhio’s commitment of the people,” said William Brown, PHHLCA president.

There will be a water slide and games for keiki, musical entertainment, food and information booths to assist people of the community. There also will be Easter activities, including an Easter egg hunt.
