Waiakea seeks hoops coach
Waiakea High School is accepting applications for a varsity girls basketball head coach.
Applications can be picked up at the Waiakea High School main office from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and they are due back to the office by March 31.
The selected candidate is required to pass the Hawaii DOE criminal background check.

New nets for UH-Hilo tennis
The East Hawaii District Tennis Association donated new nets and straps for the University of Hawaii at Hilo tennis courts.
“The Vulcan Tennis Teams and myself wanted to thank the EHDTA for their generous donation,” UH-Hilo Head coach Tina McDermott said. “We can’t express how much this was needed. We are thrilled that our facilities now reflect our ambition, passion, and aid us in our journey as we seek to improve every time we step onto the court.”
Both teams are nearly halfway through their respective seasons.
Vuls boosters meeting Tuesday
The Vulcans Booster Club will host a luncheon at noon Tuesday at Coquis Diner in Hilo.
The speakers are UH-Hilo men’s golf coach Earl Tamiya and women’s golf coach Jim DeMello.
Kamehameha cheer camp
Kamehameha Schools will host its fifth Semi-Annual Youth Cheer camp on Saturday, April 9- 0 at the school from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on both days.
The camp is open to boys and girls between grades K to fifth grade. Registration at the price of $40 for new participants and$35 for returnees is to be submitted by March 31.

Free youth golf clinic March 19
The Aloha Section PGA and the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association will host Hawaii Junior Golf Day, a free clinic, on Saturday,March 19 for ages 5 to 18 years old at Hilo Muni and Kona Country Club.
