The Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation, in partnership with several groups and businesses, invites keiki ages 17 and younger to its free Easter at the Plaza holiday event March 25 at Hilo’s Prince Kuhio Plaza.

The Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation, in partnership with several groups and businesses, invites keiki ages 17 and younger to its free Easter at the Plaza holiday event March 25 at Hilo’s Prince Kuhio Plaza.

Registration opens at 9:30 a.m. at the plaza’s center court. Keiki activities, including Easter crafts, coloring station, carnival games, tattoos, face painting and balloon sculpting, will be offered from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Prize giveaways will occur every half-hour.

A special milk-drinking contest, sponsored by the Hilo Jaycees and Kandi’s Drive-Inn, and an ice-cream eating contest, sponsored by Dairy Queen/Orange Julius, will take place at 12:30 p.m. The contests are open to keiki ages 12 and younger.

Easter at the Plaza is a drug-, alcohol- and tobacco-free event.
