Extended furlough inmate Michael Joyce failed to report to the Hawaii Community Correctional Center for his scheduled check-in, the state Department of Public Safety said Wednesday.

State sheriffs and county police were notified.

The 60-year-old Joyce is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Inmates in the extended furlough program live and work outside the facility but must check in at various times throughout the month.

Joyce is serving time for second-degree assault. Escape is expected to be added to his charges. His next parole hearing was scheduled for June 2016.

Anyone who sees Joyce is asked to call the police nonemergency line at 935-3311.
