Buyer beware
Those of you in favor of or against GMOs, organically or nonorganically grown foods, free-range or non-free-range poultry, pesticide-free fruits and veggies, and so on, be aware of what you’re purchasing at your next farmers market visit.
Crudely hand-written signs upon pieces of torn cardboard boxes or scrap pieces of paper indicating how the product was grown or raised does not necessarily mean truth in advertising.
Also, I question whether some of these weight scales used at the farmers markets have been officially certified and calibrated, as many of these scales lack the official inspected stickers.

Keep Milbank
In response to Ron Baptista’s letter of April 5 (Tribune-Herald, Your Views) to eliminate Dana Milbank’s columns in your paper, I want to say it is the one column I regularly read, as it offers a balance to the often imbalanced political cartoons and words of other columnists.
Please keep him in order to offer a spectrum of ideas.

Give Kenoi the boot
Mayor Billy Kenoi said with his own mouth he did it, and he turned himself in, so he is guilty. So why is he saying now he’s not? Why would someone turn themselves in if not?
He needs to be kicked out now. He did wrong. It’s a shame for our island. He’s the mayor. We the people looked up to him, but now, no way.
What is he teaching our children? It’s OK to do wrong and get away with it?
He says he’s a Christian. No way he’s a Christian, because if he was, he would do what is right and stop lying. He knew the “do’s and don’ts” with the pCard but misused it anyway.
If he goes free, it will show how much this court system is messed up.
People say he said sorry. Big deal. So, if a person kills someone and says sorry, it’s OK? I don’t think so. Same thing with the mayor. He stole, and he broke one of the Ten Commandments. So wake up, and do the right thing.
You will be judged by God, Mr. Mayor.
