Waiakea will need a No. 2 starter when the BIIF best-of-three postseason series starts next week.

The Warriors got a solid outing from sophomore left-hander Reese Mondina, who pitched three strong innings against Kealakehe in a 13-2 five-inning TKO game on Wednesday.

In three innings, Mondina allowed an unearned run on two hits and a walk and struck out three. Dillon-Jon Gabriel finished with two innings of one-run relief.

Nate Minami, Trayden Tamiya and Shaun Kurosawa had two RBIs each to power the Warriors (10-1). Minami and Tamiya had two hits each while Kurosawa had three hits.

Pulama Louis batted 2 for 3 for the Waveriders (1-9), who’ll be the No. 4 seed in the four-team BIIF playoffs, which start Friday, April 15.

Kalani Piltz took the loss. Markus Degrate, Dennison Joaquin, and Tehvyn Isabel also pitched.

Hilo 16, Keaau 0: Josh Breitbarth batted 2 for 3 with four RBIs to spark a 13-hit attack in a four-inning TKO game.

Josiah Factora went 3 for 3, Ryan Ragual 2 for 3 with two RBIs, Micah Bello 3 for 3, and Stone Miyao had two RBIs for the Vikings (9-2).

Noah Kalaola-Richardson pitched three innings and allowed one hit and struck out four in the win. Briden Silva threw a scoreless inning and whiffed three.

Edward Oguma went one inning in the loss for the Cougars (3-7). Delvin Ongais-Kilaulani and Christian Sprinkel also pitched.

Hawaii Prep 15, Ka‘u 8: Kiai Lindsey earned the win as Ka Makani (2-12) exploded for 10 runs in the first inning.

Sheri Freitas took the loss for the Trojans (0-15). Analei Emmsley had three RBIs while Teresia Wajar had two RBIs.
