The Exchange Club of Hilo will present the 22nd Mayor’s Garden Dinner Fellowship from 5-7 p.m. May 5 at Nani Mau Gardens.
The scheduled guest speakers are Civil Defense Administrator Darryl Oliveira and Mayor Billy Kenoi.
This year’s event is chaired by Exchange Club member Frank Lafita.
“This date is known as the National Day of Prayer and holds special meaning to many,” Lafita said. “Despite religious differences, groups have found common ground on the importance of religious freedom and this has become the premise for this annual event sponsored by the Exchange Club of Hilo.”
A musical interlude by Larry Dupio will open the program and Sandra Claveria will deliver a Hawaiian chant during a walk through the garden. Stacy Higa will lead the Pledge of Allegiance and Carl Okuyama will give a short history/prayer followed by the music of Darryl Castillo.
The program also includes special guest entertainer, comedian Frank De Lima.
For tickets and more information, call Lafita at 987-9382 or 961-4603.
