The Donkey Mill Art Center in Holualoa is offering Introduction to Photography: Fundamentals Series 1 with photographer/instructor John Ferdico from 6-8 p.m. May 4 to June 22.
Beginning photographers will learn the way their camera works and how to make it work for them; gain confidence in their ability to compose and capture powerful images; and understand the behavior of light in taking pictures.
Taken together, this eight-week series offers a comprehensive introduction to digital photography.
Students also can break up the series by choosing the two-week course focusing on their particular area of interest.
The two-week courses are:
• Basic Camera Function, May 4 and 11.
• Creative Use of Aperture and Shutter, May 18 and 25.
• Composition, June 1 and 8.
• Light and Color, June 15 and 22.
Member tuition for the series is $185 or $220 for nonmembers; $52/$60 per two-week session.
