Dennis Botelho smacked seven kills on .545 hitting Saturday and Jesse Nagatori added two aces and 18 assists as Christian Liberty swept Ehunuikaimalino in Keaau to force a play-in game for the final Division II playoff spot.
The Canefire (4-6 Blue division) will host Honokaa (4-6 Blue) at 6 p.m. Monday, with the winner advancing to face Kohala (3-9 Red) on Tuesday in Kapaau in the first round of the postseason. Also on Tuesday, Konawaena (9-1 Blue) hosts Ka’u (0-12 Red).
Pahoa (9-1 blue) and Hawaii Prep (4-8 Red) received first-round byes to Friday’s semifinals at Kealakehe.
In Division I, Keaau (4-6 Blue) and Hilo (5-7 Red) play Tuesday at the Vikings’ gym for a spot opposite undefeated Kamehameha (12-0 Red) in the semifinals. Waiakea (10-2 Red) and Kealakehe (8-4 Red) meet in the other semifinal.
