Born in Honomu, he was a retired diesel mechanic for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co., member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Shin Buddhist Temple, Hilo Hooganji Buddhist Temple, Hiroshima Kenjin Kai, Kumamoto Doshi Kai and an avid golfer. Cris Takeshi Miyao, 64, of Hilo died May 6 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired county building inspector. Services held.
