Hideshi “Dugan” Kinoshita, 91, of Hilo died April 30 at home. Born in Honomu, he was a retired diesel mechanic for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co., member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Shin Buddhist Temple, Hilo Hooganji Buddhist Temple, Hiroshima Kenjin Kai, Kumamoto Doshi Kai and an avid golfer. Services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by wife, Chiyono Kinoshita of Hilo; daughter, Beverly (Roger) Kinoshita-Patton of Las Vegas; son, Kyle (Laura) Kinoshita of San Marino, Calif.; brothers, Hitoshi Kinoshita of Pepeekeo, Hiroshi Robert (Ellen) Kinoshita of Hilo and Takeshi (Florence) Kinoshita of Honolulu; sisters, Chieko “Betty” Goya and Eileen Yaeko Taguma of Honolulu, Sueko “Suzie” (Alfred) Lee of Kailua, Oahu; four grandchildren; nephews, nieces, cousins, grandnephews and grandnieces. Cris Takeshi Miyao, 64, of Hilo died May 6 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired county building inspector. Services held. Survived by wife, Jill Miyao of Hilo; son, Cris (Crystal) Miyao Jr. of Keaau; daughters, Cristina (Troy) Miyao and Brianna (Jeffren) Galdones of Hilo; brother, Glenn (Amy) Miyao of Hilo; hanai brother, John Leite of Hilo; nine grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
