Master Bu Xiaojing, a certified Zhineng Qigong teacher from China, returns to Hilo to offer a free informational session to the community and conduct a series of wellness empowering workshops in June.
Zhineng Qigong, developed by grandmaster Pang Ming in the 1980s, focuses on improving health and wellness through moving meditation, combining teachings of the Chinese word “qi” (chi), the life force or vital energy that flows through the universe, and “gong,” the skill cultivated through practice.
Bu, diagnosed with “incurable” lupus erythematosus in 2008, turned to Zhineng Qigong rather than conventional medical treatments. Twenty-four days into her intense practice, Bu was examined and found to be free of the findings associated with the disease. Today, she dedicates her healing experience and training with all those who seek this wisdom, traveling abroad from China to the mainland U.S. and Hawaii.
Bu’s free informational session is at 5:30 p.m. June 2 at the Aging and Disability Resource Center (former Sun Sun Lau), 1055 Kinoole St.
The following workshops will be conducted at the MOA Wellness Center, 222 Kehaulani St.:
• June 4-5, “Lift Chi Up/Pour Chi Down Method,” the practice of using universal life energy, or chi, to heal through gentle moving meditation.
• June 7-9, “Body and Mind Method,” the practice of revitalizing all significant meridians to assist in moving life force energy to improve health.
• June 11, “Anti-Cancer Method,” specific moving meditation practice toward prevention and healing.
